Smoking Again

After a break and adjusting to a new job situation, I am back to smoking again and the BBQ Blog is back in action. To get started I finally set up my Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker 22-1/2-Inch Smoker. I will post pics of the set up and my first smoke in it in the next couple of entries.

Welcome to BBQ season!

WSM Smoke Day IV

This past weekend was WSM Smoke Day IV and so in the spirit of the event I smoked 4 pork butts on one of my WSMs running with a BBQ Guru DigiQ II.

Rubbed Pork Butts at the start of a 16 hour smoke.

Here are the pork butts at the start of the 16 hour smoke. I had bbq sandwiches that night and then for memorial day I used the pork for pork tacos which all my guests seemed to enjoy.

2nd Annual International WSM Smoke Day

It is almost 4 a.m. and I am excited to participate in the 2nd Annual International WSM Smoke Day. This will be my second time. Put together by members of The Virtual Weber Bullet, the WSM Smoke Day is not some large marijuana legalization rally - it is when BBQers of all walks of life who are owners and fans of the Weber Smokey Moutain Smoker all smoke in unison. Check out who many people are ready to go. I guess in Austrailia, the day is well under way. Woo Hoo.

Today, I will be businting St. Louis Style Spare Ribs and Chicken Thighs. I will update as we progress.
